Czech surrealist Svankmajer takes a loose adaptation of the old
Faust legend, in which a man sells his soul to the devil, and
blends it with live action, claymation, puppet theatre, stop-motion
animation and special effects. The result is a film as far from
Disney as you can get - animation for both the mind and the eye.
