Arctic explorer
literally falls into a mountain of gold and in so doing becomes
the richest man in the world. But, as we know, wealth does not bring
happiness. Eureka divides into three distinct parts - the discovery,
the death, the trial. John Boorman rates the first two parts as
potentially the greatest movie ever made and these sections contain
some of the finest examples of movie-making you will ever see. It
is in the final part that we get some of the most highly charged
emotional performances. A masterpiece.
