Keswick Film Club has been granted £5000 by the Lottery through the Film Council to support the Club's fourth cinematic celebration from 14 - 16 February. The Festival, hosted by the Alhambra Cinema and Theatre by the Lake, includes the best of World Cinema, short films and archive gems.
A major feature of the Festival will be a Nicolas Roeg retrospective showing six films by one of Britain's finest film-makers. Nic will be interviewed on-stage at Theatre by the Lake on Sunday evening (16 Feb) to talk about his films and long career as a highlight of the weekend's programme. Actors he has directed include Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland (Don't Look Now), David Bowie (The Man Who Fell to Earth), Tony Curtis (Insignificance), Jenny Agutter (Walkabout), Gene Hackman (Eureka), Mick Jagger and Anita Pallenberg (Performance), all showing at the Festival.
The Film Club is also grateful for financial support from Allerdale Community Fund and Booths Supermarkets.
