When an unexpected death occurs in a family, we follow its
impact on those bereaved. Denial, guilt, sorrow, anger,
a picking up of the pieces and grudging acceptance are all
laid before us in a way that draws us in with the grieving
family. It is the effect that the death has on everyday
activities that is the most profound and - simply because
they are everyday - has the most impact on us.
This is razor-sharp, quality drama about our fragile existence,
yet somehow energizing and almost therapeutic. Sad it may
be but it is never mawkish or self-pitying. A film that
is honest and open - and one that demands to be seen.
