The old codes of honour are waning in 19th Century Japan
seemingly for everyone except Seibei, low ranking samurai,
who lives only for his elderly mother and two small daughters.
When his childhood sweetheart returns to town, followed
by her drunken ex-husband, Seibei takes matters into his
own hands.
