Film Festival Extras
It's countdown to the Feb Film Weekend,
the nine chosen films based on music are arriving and being made up at the cinema ready to be shown this weekend;
the judges are looking at the Cumbrian young peoples' short films which are being shown free at the Alhambra at 10.30am on Sunday;
and the Royal Bengal, Silk Road, Casa Bela and Good Taste have generously donated food for the party for Passholders and invited guests on Friday.
At the party Oli Bentley ex The Fibs will be playing with his new band Flux - all the way from Leeds.
And this year we are having some linked events in the town.
There are two sessions of poetry at the Square Orange - 'Three prize poets and a Pinter', Mary Robinson, Pauline McDonald and Chris Pilling will be reading and Geoff Hayes and Chris Jordan will be performing Last to Go by Harold Pinter.
This is on Saturday at 5.15pm and then on Sunday at 4.15pm there is 'Two pithy poets and a Cubist' with Lois Howard, Jeannette Davidson and Max Jacob, a cubist with Picasso.
On Saturday night The Square Orange is having live music with Richard Anderson and there is a display of photographs in the Moot Hall on Sunday by Roy Fleming.
We hope there's something for everyone.
