Too Late To Die Young
Cert: TBC Year: 2018 Length: 110 mins Language: Spanish
Synopsis
Shown as a companion piece to Nae Pasaran, Too Late to Die Young is set the summer of 1990 as democracy comes back to Chile. In an isolated community, SofĂa (16), Lucas (16) and Clara (10), face their first loves and fears, while preparing for New Year's Eve. They may live far from the dangers of the city, but not from those of nature.
At the time of writing, this is one of those rare gems with a score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Critics
It's a coming-of-age story for both its young characters and the country they're in, presenting a collective portrait of a society coming to terms, often messily, with the new opportunities around them
