Synopsis

Pre-Release Screening

Carlobianchi and Doriano are charismatic criminals with big personalities and a treasure trove of stories from their glory days. Unwitting members of the 'lost generation' – men born during the 1970s boom times who after the 2008 financial crisis, found themselves in troubling terrain – they survive on anecdotes and bar fare, and their bills are getting harder to pay. If only they could dig up the cash their old pal Genio buried before he left for Argentina... and maybe they will! Right after that last drink.

When they meet sweet, hapless architecture student Giulio, they take him under their grizzled wing and embark on a road trip through the Venetian plains to revive his zest for life.

Critics

open_quote An… Italian Gem on Drinking Buddies, Aging and Wistful Flavors of Life. Loosely reminiscent of the happy-sad fables of Alice Rohrwacher, Francesco Sossai’s boozy dramedy is enchanting even when it briefly veers into predictable territory. close_quote Variety
