Synopsis

Carlisle College Film Student Selection

A satirical thriller in which a rideshare driver, who longs for a larger online following, devises a bloody plan he hopes will make him go viral. The film highlights the menace of social media obsession, the craving for followers, needing approval from strangers and the effect of these on mental health.

Keery nails the sweaty desperation of a wannabe influencer, frantic for likes, in an inventive, no-holds barred, unpredictable black comedy that slices straight to the heart of online culture. Although now five years old, the film is possibly even more relevant to today's society.

Critics

open_quote It's a pleasant surprise that Kotlyarenko manages to link together YouTube videos, Instagram posts, livestreams and screensharing in an authentic but genuinely entertaining way. close_quote Hannah Strong, Little White Lies
