A young, pregnant Irish girl is in Birmingham looking for her feckless lover when she meets Mr Hilditch (Hoskins in brilliant form), a quiet and caring canteen manager who offers her a lift and friendly advice. Atom Egoyan is a master of creating disturbing cinema and this gripping adaptation of the William Trevor novel is like nothing else you will see in the cinema today. Keswick Film Club won the Best New Film Society at the British Federation Of Film Societies awards in 2000.

Since then, the club has won Film Society Of The Year and awards for Best Programme four times and Best Website twice.

We have also received numerous Distinctions and Commendations in categories including marketing, programming and website.
