Synopsis
An ageing actress buys black-market dumplings supposed to bring eternal youth. So begins this savage satire, from the writer of Farewell My Concubine, a disturbing and transfixing revelation of the perversion caused by the pursuit of beauty. Christopher Doyle's (In the Mood for Love) fantastic cinematography makes the film so exquisite as to be almost other-worldly.
